48th Molodist Kyiv International Film Festival will be held from May 25 to June 2. June 1 will be the presentation of awards to laureates of the forty-eighth Molodist Kyiv International Film Festival, and on June 2, viewers will be able to watch films of the film festival winners.

“This year, Molodist Kyiv International Film Festival received more than two thousand applications for participation from almost a hundred countries of the world. Of these, 495 films claimed the inclusion in the International Competition of feature films, 768 – in the short and 433 – in the student competition. More than 200 Ukrainian short films competed for the right to take part in the National Competition,” the site says.
The winner receives for the best film of the International Competition 10 thousand US dollars and the statuette “Scythian Deer”. The Cultural Center “Kyiv Cinema” remains the festival center of Molodist Kyiv International Film Festival. Other locations will be Postal Square – the open-air cinema of the festival and the Butterfly DeLuxe – the official cinema of the festival. The festival will host an exhibition of Giger (1940-2014), an outstanding Swiss artist and creator of the xenomorph image from Ridley Scott’s film “Alien”, and the legendary film Alien will also be shown.
