The leadership of Naftogaz of Ukraine and the deputy head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Olena Zerkal, at the official meeting in the United States discussed the purchase of American liquefied gas (LNG), counteracting Nord Stream-2 and putting the Ukrainian GTS in concession. This was announced on Facebook by the head of Naftogaz, Andriy Kobolyev.

“At meetings at the State Department and the US Department of Energy, it was said, in particular, how to provide Ukraine with a reliable opportunity to buy LNG at a competitive price,” Kobolyev wrote.

The head of NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine noted that this would help Ukraine accumulate additional gas reserves at the beginning of winter.

Kobolyev also noted that during the meeting, the Ukrainian side saw the interest in reforming the Ukrainian gas market and separating the independent operator of the Ukrainian GTS.

“Speaking with US senators who are co-authors of several sanction bills, we focused on countering the Nord Stream II project,” said Kobolyev.

Earlier, Journalist reported that the head of Naftogaz, Kobolyev, was convinced that Gazprom could not shut off gas to Ukraine.
