The military liberation of Donbas can lead to the open invasion of Russia into the territory of Ukraine, said the Secretary of the Parliamentary Committee for Security and Defence, Ivan Vinnyk.
“As for the statement of Nayev: he is certainly better acquainted with the general military situation, with the theater of potential military actions in the east of Ukraine, because he exercised the powers of the Commander of the Joint Forces for a long time,” said the parliamentarian.
According to Vinnyk, Nayev understands what forces and means the Armed Forces of Ukraine will have to face with if the decision will be made to reach the administrative border with the Russian Federation and liberate the occupied territories.
“Indeed, after administrative border will be taken under control, the ORDLO territory will be liberated by the National Guard and National Police forces,” said the deputy.
At the same time, according to Vinnyk, the success of such an operation will largely depend on the position of the Russian Federation, UNIAN reports.
“It is not clear how the Russian Federation will act. The military response of the Russian Federation will consist in a direct open invasion on the territory of Ukraine in order to protect Russian citizens who, in the opinion of the Russian Federation, will suffer from the actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the case of the scenario proposed by Nayev,” said Vinnyk.
