Government of Japan provides USD 2.8 mln to support people and communities in Eastern Ukraine affected by the conflict

This was reported by the press service of the Ministry for Regional Development, Building and Housing of Ukraine.

“The Japanese government provided USD 2.8 million to meet humanitarian needs, support vulnerable people, rehabilitate eastern oblasts of Ukraine, and purchase medical equipment for the Ministry of Defense hospital,” the ministry said.

It is also noted that material assistance will be provided for four projects to be implemented by United Nations agencies in Ukraine, namely the UN Development Program (UNDP), the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and UN Project Services (UNOPS).
