The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has visited the Chongar entry and exit checkpoint on the temporary administrative border with the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. The President examined the checkpoint infrastructure at the administrative border. This is reported by the Presidential press service.

The newly appointed chairman of the Kherson Oblast State Administration, Yurii Gusev, noted that the existing problems at the checkpoints have complex nature and require harmonious interaction between various executive bodies.

Gusev noted that the high-quality infrastructure of the checkpoints has not been created since 2014 and noted that the first stage of the arrangement of entry and exit points, in particular, the creation of regime zones, will be completed by November 15.

President Zelensky, in turn, noted that it was necessary to implement the second final stage of the project – the creation of service centers with bus stations and centers for the provision of administrative services – until December 20 of this year.

“Let’s do it by December 20 — that will be fine. If not – the new chairman of the oblast state administration will remain in the past. This will be honest,” Zelensky said.

The head of state also promised to assist in the full financing of the project.
