At the meeting of July 24, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the National Strategy for Integrated Border Management until 2025, the Government portal reports.
As Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine and head of the interdepartmental working group on integrated border management Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze noted, the adoption of the strategy is the next step towards making Ukrainian border safe and transparent for the agencies dealing with border crossing, comfortable and convenient for everyone who crosses border or moves goods. This is relates to full cooperation among the customs officers, border guards, the Armed Forces, regional and local authorities, and others.
The strategy is designed to effectively implement the principles of integrated border management, proclaimed by the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union.
“Work in this direction is one of Ukraine’s obligations in the framework of Ukraine’s deep sectoral integration with the European Union, namely in the justice, freedom and security sector,” the Vice Prime Minister noted.
The next important step, she said, should be the approval of the Action Plan for the implementation of the Strategy. A draft plan has already been created.
As The Journalist reported, Ukraine, Slovakia will start exchange of customs information on goods transported across border.
