Ukrainian Foreign Minister Vadym Prystaiko said that the Ukrainian side, together with the International Investigation Team did everything possible so that the extradition of Tsemakh would not affect the interests of the investigation. This was reported by the Ukrainian Embassy in Germany, referring to Prystaiko’s interview with the German newspaper Die Welt.
“We could not calmly watch our citizens slowly die. Therefore, we had to make difficult compromises. This refers to Tsemakh’s extradition. And we understand that our decision was difficult for many of our international partners, in particular, the Netherlands. We look forward to understanding the fact of such forced step,” Prystaiko explained.
The Minister emphasized that Russia must fulfill its obligations and cooperate with the investigation, as well as stop its practice of arresting Ukrainian citizens and taking them hostage in order to blackmail Ukraine.
