Head of the National Bank (NBU) of Ukraine Yakiv Smoliy in an interview with Voice of America stressed that the International Monetary Fund during negotiations with the Ukrainian delegation does not bring up the issue of raising gas tariffs for Ukraine’s population.

“The issue of the gas prices is not discussed because the government had approved the decree that regulates the tariffs. The current situation at the world market is quite favorable; the gas prices dropped, so we do not talk about increasing them,” Head of the NBU said.

Smoliy added that during the meeting of the Ukrainian delegation with the IMF, they discussed the adoption of a number of bills regarding restoration of criminal responsibility for illicit enrichment, land market issues and Ukraine’s state budget in 2020.

As The Journalist reported, Naftogaz to reduce gas prices for population by 10.4% in July.
