Deputy Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine Vitalii Muzychenko has stated that about 3 million citizens received a subsidy for housing and communal services in November, and about 2 million citizens received benefits.
“A subsidy for about 3 million households in Ukraine was accrued and transferred in November,” the deputy minister said, adding that about 2 million citizens were granted benefits.
The data also show that over two months of this year, 60% less citizens applied for subsidies compared to the same period last year.
“The average amount of benefits in November is about UAH 800 per person, for subsidies – more than UAH 1,200 per household. More cases of receiving subsidies have been recorded due to their amount is larger. For recipients of benefits, a small discount of 20-25% is provided,” the deputy minister emphasized.
According to the ministry, UAH 47 billion were envisaged in the budget for 2019 and 2020 for benefits and subsidies for housing services.
Muzychenko said that state authorities have no debt to Ukrainians in terms of paying subsidies and benefits for housing and communal services.
“As of today, the state budget provides for a little more than UAH 47 billion which is quite enough. We have already paid off by November inclusive, everything is fully funded, we don’t have any debt in terms of paying benefits and subsidies to citizens,” the official emphasized.
