The results of a study conducted by Rating Sociological Group show that 64% of Ukrainians do not support idea of moving Christmas celebrations from January 7 to December 25.
It is noted that only 25% of Ukrainians polled support the idea of moving Christmas celebration from January 7 to December 25. 64% of respondents voted against such an idea. Another 7% said they were indifferent to this issue. 4% could not answer.
The study notes the dynamics in the number of supporters of moving the date of the Christmas celebration has increased (in 2016, only 15% of respondents supported this idea, 69% were against it).
Most supporters of the idea of moving Christmas celebration live in the west of the country: 43% of them support the idea and almost the same number of respondents opposed it.
In other macro-regions, the respondents were more likely against moving celebration: in the center regions only 23% responders backed the idea, and 66% voted against, in the south – 15% and 74% respectively, in the east (14% and 74%).
This initiative was supported mostly by affluent middle-aged and older respondents.
