The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) put new UAH 10 coin into circulation since June 3, 2020. New coins are valid means of payment in Ukraine. This was reported by the NBU press service.

The new coin is small and light: it’s diameter is 23.5 mm, weight – 6.4 grams. It is made of zinc alloy nickel plated. Thanks to the larger diameter and rib (third side of the coin) with special large corrugation, it will be easy for citizens to distinguish it from coins of other denominations.

On the reverse of the coin is a portrait of the Ukrainian hetman Ivan Mazepa; on the obverse in the center, framed by an old Slavic ornament, is the face value of the coin.

Gradually – as a result of natural wear and tear – 10-hryvnia banknotes will be replaced in circulation by coins.
