Ukraine introduced the next stage of quarantine weakening on June 10. At the same time, the city of Kyiv and six more regions will not be able to start new weakening phase due to the large number of new patients infected with coronavirus. More than 12 coronavirus patients per 100,000 people are recorded in seven regions, according to the chief sanitary doctor Viktor Lyashko.
Ukraine launched a new phase of quarantine weakening today. The recreation center and sanatoriums, cultural institutions, and two checkpoints in Donbas resumed their operations due to relevant decision made by the Cabinet of Ministers.
However, not all regions are ready for lockdown weakening.
“We have several areas today that do not reach the normal incidence rate, namely, the city of Kyiv, Volyn, Zhytomyr, Zakarpattia, Lviv, Rivne and Chernivtsi regions. These areas cannot apply the next stage of easing quarantine measures,” Lyashko said.
The Ministry of Health determines the conditions for quarantine weakening in three ways: data on the average number of PCR tests per 100,000 people over the past 7 days, incidence rate, or the number of new patients per 100,000 people in the past 7 days and congestion of hospital beds for the coronavirus patients, which should not exceed 50%.
