Ukrmetallurgprom reports a drop in metallurgicalproduction volumes at the end of the H1 of 2020.
During January-June 2020, metallurgical enterprises of Ukraine produced 4.81 million tons (92.7%) of gross coke (6% moisture content), 9.98 million tons (97.4%) of pig iron, 10.10 million tons (92.4%) of steel, 9.03 million tons (95.3%) of rolled products and 0.41 million tons (70.6%) of pipe products.
The main reasons for the drop in production volumes, along with the coronavirus pandemic, are a decrease in prices and a decrease in demand for metal products, the presence of excess global steelmaking capacities, an increase in tariffs and changes in legislation.
