The Ukrainian authorities has decided to strengthen security on the Ukraine/Belarus border. However, the situation on the border is calm and border guards do not observe the movement of military hardware. This was stated in the article “Threat from the North: Should Ukraine Expect for Military Aggression from Belarus Territory.”
To the speaker of the State Border Service Andriy Demchenko, additional resources and forces were involved in protecting this area.
“We are intensively guarding the border with Belarus, since the situation in that country is rather turbulent […] After the situation in Belarus started to escalate, we switched to a strengthened regime,” the message reads.
