Amount of money in circulation in Ukraine decreased by UAH 10 bln – NBU

According to the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) estimations the amount of money in circulation decrease by UAH 10 billion since the beginning of the year. This was announced by the head of the National Bank, Yakiv Smoliy, while presenting the NBU decision at the discount rate on December 12, Hromadske reports.

“Monetary Policy Committee reported on the dynamics of monetary circulation. Unlike previous years, this year we have UAH 10 billion less money in circulation,” the message says.

Yakiv Smoliy explained that decrease of money in circulation caused by popularity of cashless payments method in Ukraine.

As The Journalist reported, NBU explained reasons for fall in the exchange rate.
