The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (AMCU) states that fuel prices at filling station have not been sufficiently reduced, therefore, it announced in-depth checks on the actions of participants in oil products markets. This was reported by the press service of the AMCU.
“According to the results of the analysis of the retail markets of high-octane gasolines and diesel fuels through stationary filling station networks, made in December 2019, the Committee found out that the level of retail prices in Ukraine does not correlate with changes in factors affecting their formation,” the report said.
The AMCU believes that the argument provided by market participants does not provide sufficient justification for the level of established fuel prices.
“In connection with the above, the Committee has now launched an in-depth study of the compliance of the actions of participants in the retail markets of high-octane gasolines and diesel fuel with the requirements of the legislation on the protection of economic competition,” the department notes.
