Minister of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov claims he cannot predict when quarantine will end so far, but, according to the most optimistic forecasts, it will be possible to return to normal life from May 15.
“My point of view: the country will begin to return to normal life no earlier than May 15. On the other hand, now is a very important moment of the epidemic attack. If we observe quarantine and we could bring down the peak of the virus, avoiding the level of tragic losses,” the Interior Ministry press service quotes Avakov, as saying.
The Minister specified that the end of quarantine in Ukraine will depend on the effectiveness of the implemented measures.
Avakov also said that the government and the president have developed a number of initiatives that will help Ukrainians survive the difficult quarantine period.
“In the coming days, Ukrainians with low income will receive assistance from the state. The government and the president decided to pay cash assistance. One category of people will receive assistance right away. The other category – after the approval by the Verkhovna Rada of changes to the budget proposed by the government,” the Interior Minister stressed.
