The Ukrainian activist Volodymyr Balukh, who is currently being held in a Russian colony, has written in his letter to the coordinator of the Crimean human rights group Olha Skrypnyk that he would defend his right to life resorting to radical methods. However, the activist also added that he did not hope his demands to be satisfied, Crimea.Realities reports.
The Ukrainian political prisoner highlighted that the only chance to being released was on the prisoner swap terms.
“In the circumstances, I do not see any other solution for myself, except for defending my right to life as a free citizen of Ukraine by using radical methods. Therefore, I do not intend to stop my hunger strike until my demands are met, and, as you understand, it is hopeless … Objectively, for me the only chance to get out of here alive is to be exchanged,” Balukh wrote.
