More than 500 Ukrainians are recognized as victims of human trafficking

From 2012 to 2018 in Ukraine, more than 500 people were officially recognized as victims of human trafficking. This reported in the Shadow Report on the implementation of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, created with the participation of Coalition of social organizations of Legal Development Network and Hubs Civil Network society of Ukraine.

“From 2012 to 2018, 542 people (536 citizens of Ukraine and 6 foreign citizens) are officially recognized as victims of human trafficking, of whom 221 are women, 267 men, 54 children,” the message says.

It is specified that 300 people suffered from labor exploitation, 131 – sexual exploitation, 8 – mixed exploitation, organs were removed from 10 people, 50 people were involved in begging, 10 children were sold, one person suffered from surrogate motherhood, 32 people were involved into criminal activity.
“The most likely destination countries for human trafficking are Russia – 144, Poland – 35, Turkey – 17, Czech Republic – 6, Italy, Spain and Belarus – 5 cases each,” the report says.

Earlier, the “Journalist” reported that IMF supports Ukraine, but insists on accelerating reforms under the leadership of Poroshenko.
