Czech Republic doubles annual quota for Ukrainian workers

Czech Foreign Minister Tomas Petricek has said that the Czech government has increased the number of work permits to Ukrainians from 19,600 to 40,000, Radio Praha reported.

The Foreign Ministry’s proposal was approved at the government meeting and will increase the applications quota that the Czech Consulate in Lviv accepts as part of a special regime for skilled workers from Ukraine.

A “Special Procedure for Ukrainian Workers in the Agricultural and Food Industry” was also adopted.

The Czech Ministry of Labor reports that in 2018, 121,086 citizens of Ukraine were employed in the country, representing more than 20% of all foreigners working in the country.

As The Journalist reported, a project on the free employment of Ukrainians was launched in Poland.
