Deputies of the Kyiv city council voted for taking on Kyivenergo’s debts to Naftogaz

The Kyivenergo company should transfer consumers’ debts. This is reported by Energy Reform inform agency.

«The Kyiv city council at a meeting on September 11 decided to allow Kyivteploenergo to take on UAH 2.6 billion debts of Kyivenergo for gas to NJSC Naftogaz, under condition if Kyivenergo transfers the sources of compensation of the debt to the municipal enterprise,» – the statement said.

The report notes that a total of 76 MPs backed this decision.
According to the Deputy Head of the KCSA Petro Panteleyev, Kyivteploenergo will pay off the debt in part at the expense of the subvention from the state, and the principal amount will be paid off due to the transfer of the consumers’ debts to Kyivenergo to the municipal enterprise.
It should be noted that this decision has a risk not to take place, in the event that Kyivenergo does not transfer sources of debt repayment.
As The Journalist reported earlier, Naftogaz has risen gas price for industrial consumers since Sept 1.
