Diplomat: Before Ukraine, Georgia was a test ground for the hybrid war of the Russian Federation

The platform for a hybrid war before the invasion of Ukraine for the Russian Federation was Georgia. This was announced by Deputy Foreign Minister of Georgia Vakhtang Makharoblishvili during the First International Conference “Odessa Debates. Unification of Ukraine, the Black Sea region and transatlantic partners.”

In the opinion of Georgian diplomat, reaction of world was not fast enough and inappropriate in order to prevent actions of the Russian Federation regarding what it was doing recently, including in Ukraine.

“Georgia has been experiencing a hybrid war since the early 90s. Russia has experienced a whole set of tools for the hybrid war in Georgia – the overlapping of energy, electricity, food embargo, etc. Before Ukraine, Georgia was a test site for a hybrid war,” Makharoblishvili said.
