From today, April 1, when designing the premises of institutions, organizations and enterprises in Ukraine, it is imperative to equip universal jobs taking into account the needs of people with disabilities. Such standards are provided for by the new state construction norms “Inclusiveness of buildings and structures”.
It is reported by European Integration Portal with reference to information of Ministry of Regional Development, Construction and Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine.
From now on, the following actions will be required.
With the construction of new residential and public buildings apply the principles of universal design.
It is necessary to provide all entrances and exits from the building, including evacuation, ground level without arranging the porch. To do this, provide a solid coating with drainage and storm drains.
During the reconstruction of residential and public buildings, it is allowed to equip a porch with a height of not more than 0.15 m from the pavement and the toga must always be installed with secure ramps.
Objects that are designed should be equally accessible and convenient for people with limited mobility and other members of society. For example, the lack of thresholds, non-slip smooth surfaces, comfortable congresses, the supply of useful information that is easily perceived visually, tactile and verbally.
The use of specialized accessibility elements for persons with disabilities (ramps, lifts, etc.) should be established by the design task only if there are no opportunities to arrange universal elements.
As reported by “Journalist”, from now on in Ukraine they will build hotels with rooms for people with disabilities.
