On May 16-20, in the center of Kyiv, traffic will be restricted due to the preparation and holding of events on the occasion of Europe Day, Kyiv City Administration reported.
So, on May 18 at 13:00, the opening ceremony of Europe Day in Kyiv will begin with the participation of the leadership of the country, the capital, the EU representars in Ukraine, the EU member states accredited in Ukraine.
Europe Day in Kyiv – 2019 is dedicated to the 1000th anniversary of the beginning of the rule of Grand Prince of Kievan Rus-Ukraine Yaroslav the Wise – the most important figure in international relations between Kyiv and Europe.
Events will be held on Mikhailovskiy Square, in the park around the monument to Anne of Kyiv on Lvivskiy Square, Kontraktova Square, Sofia Square, Taras Shevchenko Park.
According to the mayor’s office, the program will also include an art project “Ukrainian Stars of the World Opera” on Sofia Square on May 19.
For the holiday period, changes will be made to the operation of land passenger transport routes, as promised in addition.
