In 2019, agricultural production in Ukraine could be reduced by 3.7% compared with the previous year – up to 258.6 billion UAH. But in general, in 2019 the tendency of stabilization of agricultural production achieved in previous years will continue, and some decline is due to the high comparative base of 2018. Then Ukraine received a record gross grain harvest of 70 million tons.
It is reported by the press service of the National Scientific Center “Institute of Agrarian Economics”, citing the words of the Director of the Institute Yurii Lupenko.
According to forecasts of specialists, the gross agricultural output in 2019 will be 258.6 billion UAH. The “Institute of Agrarian Economics” noted that “in constant prices of 2010. This is 3.7% less than last year. ”
Lupenko said that the production of gross crop production could be reduced by 5.3% against the figures of 2018 and reach 188.2 billion UAH.
“The harvest of grain and leguminous crops in 2019 is expected to be 68.4 million tons, which is 2.3% less than last year. At the same time, in the current year, experts expect an increase in the yield of barley, wheat, rapeseed and greenhouse vegetables, ”the message says.
Production of gross livestock products in Ukraine in 2019 is expected to reach 70.5 billion UAH, which is 0.8% more than in 2018. Egg production is expected to grow by 3.4%, and poultry meat by 7.4%.
Earlier, the “Journalist” reported that Ukraine predicted a decline in sugar production by almost a third.
