First million of e-prescription drugs given out in less than a month

The first million e-prescription medicines were given out within the framework of the Affordable medications program, Acting Minister of Healthcare of Ukraine Ulana Suprun reported on Facebook.

“The first million of electronic prescriptions were filled in less than a month, after e-prescriptions system was launched. On May 9, at 1754 pm a millionth medicine was released in one of the pharmacies in Kriviy Rih. This demonstrate that medicines for Ukrainians have become even more accessible, and doctors and patients readily use ‘em [electronic prescriptions – ed.],” said in a message.

Suprun recalled that, thanks to the electronic system, it is now possible to trace any information about the Affordable medications program.

In this case, she noted that there are still situations when patients in pharmacies are asked to rewrite prescriptions by hand, which is a violation.
