A personal appeal of a political prisoner with a request for pardon is not a prerequisite for release. First Vice-Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Iryna Gerashchenko wrote this on her Facebook page, commenting the answer of the administration of the President of the Russian Federation (RF) Vladimir Putin to Sentsov’s mother’s letter, in which she asking to pardon her son.
In particular, Iryna Gerashchenko gave an example of the release of Nadiia Savchenko, who was pardoned without personal appeal to Putin.
«The Kremlin is lying! Savchenko did not ask for pardon personally! Cynicism, but about her pardon have asked the relatives of Russian journalists, killed in Donbas, who are completely outsiders to her. And it is worked, because it was the Kremlin scenario. The absence of personal petition did not prevent Putin from pardoning Nadiia,» – Gerashchenko wrote.
«The Kremlin nonhumans, cynics, murderers. Putin knows that Oleh will never write a petition. The Russian Federation is implementing a scenario of the slow murder of Oleh …. Sentsov’s mother have had a birthday on Sunday. She was waiting for the biggest gift – returning of her son. Instead, she received a vile letter from the Kremlin,» – added the vice-speaker.
Gerashchenko noted, that Akhtem Chiyhoz and Ilmi Umerov also did not apply to the top of the Russian Government for pardon.
As The Journalist reported earlier, Lyudmila Denisova is convinced that Sentsov will not ask Putin for pardon.
