During the past 2018, the State Forest Resources Agency of Ukraine has regenerated 44,000 ha of forests, of which almost 2,000 ha are new forests, UNN reports, citing the public report of the Deputy Chairman of the State Forest Agency Volodymyr Bondar.
“Instead of forest that was cut down, the new forest should be recreated shortly. Consequently, 44,000 hectares of forests were recreated in 2018, of which almost 2,000 hectares are new forests,” said Bondar.
However, as the Deputy Chairman added, the dynamics of creating new forests has been somewhat suspended for objective reasons, especially in the south and east of the country.
As The Journalist reported, new national Natural Park "Boykivschyna" will be created.
