In one of the schools in Berlin, bilingual Ukrainian-German education can be introduced.
This is reported on the facebook page of Embassy of Ukraine in the Federal Republic of Germany.
“Given the significant number of Ukrainians living in the German capital, including children, the Embassy of Ukraine in Germany initiated the implementation of a project to introduce a bilingual Ukrainian-German education in one of the schools in Berlin according to the model “State European School in Berlin”.
We are pleased to announce that the German side reaffirmed the political will to support this idea, provided that the corresponding demand for such training was demonstrated by the Ukrainian community and the people of Berlin as a whole,” the embassy page says.
Parents are asked to fill out a questionnaire.
“Ukrainian language has every chance of becoming the tenth foreign language in which they will be taught at Berlin’s European schools. Today, according to such a unique educational model for Germany, bilingual education is carried out in 32 educational institutions in the capital of Germany, where, along with German students learn Turkish, Polish, English, Russian, Italian, French, Spanish, Greek and Portuguese, ”the page says.
