The Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO) of Ukraine is not working properly, mainly because of its chief, Nazar Kholodnytsky. This was stated by the EU ambassador, Hugues Mingarelli, in his interview with the European Pravda, commenting on the issues of combating corruption in Ukraine.
According to the French diplomat, there is no cooperation between Ukrainian main anti-corruption bodies: the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and SAPO.
“As for the SAPO – it is quite clear that its functional problems are personally connected with Mr. Kholodnytsky. It is not my job to decide whether to resign him or not, but it is obvious that the SAPO head should be capable of good cooperation with NABU, what is not observed so far,” Mingarelli stressed.
