Ukraine sustain financial losses from the Crimean Bridge

Ukrainian Infrastructure Minister Volodymyr Omelyan has said that Ukraine has lost at least half a billion hryvnias because of the construction of the Crimean Bridge over the Kerch Strait from Russia to the occupied Crimea. This is reported by Radio Liberty.
According to Omelyan, the main problem is that the bridge limiting the size of ships that can get into the ports of Mariupol and Berdyansk.

«According to our most conservative estimates, this year we have already lost half a billion hryvnias. These are direct losses due to the decrease in parameters of the vessels for transshipment in the ports of Mariupol and Berdyansk. But these losses are certainly much greater if we calculate the socio-economic effect, losses of ship owners and businesses. I believe it is about billions, and maybe not even in hryvnias,» – Omelyan said.

As «The Journalist» reported earlier, the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Volodymyr Omelyan reported on the inspection of tour operators in Ukraine and possible cancellation of licenses of tour operators, which not fulfilling their obligations.
