Chemists from Tel Aviv University have developed an eco-friendly plastic, which is based on the marine microorganisms, Hightech reports.
It is reported that there are several plants in the world that produce rapidly-degradable plastic made with plants. However, their cultivation requires fertile soil and fresh water.
In turn, Israeli scientists have proposed a new method for the production of bioplastics. In particular, this requires polymers that are formed by marine microorganisms in the result of feeding with multicellular algae. The created material was called polyhydroxyalkanoate, it is cheap in production and completely decomposes in the soil in about two years.
As The Journalist reported, on how environmental friendliness is becoming a trend.
