Prices for alcoholic beverages were raised in Ukraine by Cabinet of Ministers

Cabinet of Ministers has raised the minimum wholesale and retail prices for alcohol, reports Strana.ua.

From now on, prices for vodka and alcoholic beverages will grow by 12.4-19.6%; whiskey, rum and gin – by 12%; cognac – by 6.6-9.5% and wine – by 4.5-13.5%.
According to the decree adopted at government meeting, the minimum retail price for a half-liter bottle of vodka is proposed to increase – to 89.4 UAH. The minimum wholesale prices for vodka and alcoholic beverages are increased – up to 321 UAH / liter of 100% alcohol. Minimum prices for natural wines are raised to 42 UAH per bottle 0,7 l in retail, for fortified wines and vermouths – up to 49 UAH, for champagne for a bottle of 0,7 l – up to 89 UAH.

Also, soon we should expect an increase in the minimum wholesale-selling price of brandy «three stars» from the current 386.98 UAH for 1 liter of 100% alcohol to 412.5 UAH, retail – from 597.3 UAH to 641.6 UAH .

«Thus, a bottle of «three-star cognac» volume of 0.7 liters will cost at least 449 UAH. On cognac «four stars» prices rose, respectively, from 412.85 UAH to 455.2 UAH and from 645.17 UAH to 696.7 UAH. For cognac «five stars» in the document, the minimum wholesale price was reduced from 495.95 UAH to 481.6 UAH, while retail was raised from 692.6 UAH to 758.3 UAH», report said.

Resolution comes into force 10 days after its publication.
