City council agrees to annex Kotsyubynske urban-type settlement to Kyiv and sent a relevant appeal to Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine about changing borders of capital at expense of joining this settlement.
The decision to address the appeal to the parliament regarding inclusion of Kotsyubynske settlement to Kyiv supported 90 of 96 deputies.
Draft decision was considered urgent, he was added to agenda by the deputy of Kyiv mayor – the secretary of the Kyiv city council Volodymyr Prokopiv.
Chairman of Kotsyubynske village council, Olha Matyushina, said 61% of local residents of Kotsyubynske support joining capital’s territory.
Matyushina noted that residents of village mostly work in Kyiv and want to have the same rights with equal access to admin services and social services and opportunities. She urged the city council to support the residents of Kotsyubynske.
