KIIS: Support for president fell to 66% over month

According to the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS) the number of Ukrainians who positively assessed three top officials of the state decreased in October. So, the level of support for President Volodymyr Zelensky fell to 66% in October compared with 73% in September, for Prime Minister Oleksiy Goncharuk (fell to 10% compared with 17% in Sept.) and for parliament speaker Dmytro Razumkov (fell to 27% compared with 33% in September).

From October 9 to October 11, KIIS conducted a CATI survey (computer-assisted telephone interviewing) based on a random selection of phone numbers. The survey results were compared with previous data obtained in between September 16 – 19, 2019.

The first places in balance between positive and negative relations in October 2019 took Zelensky (+ 57% balance), Razumkov (+ 19%) and Vakarchuk (-1%). They are followed by Honcharuk (-4%), Boyko (-9%) and Tymoshenko (-13%).

The study says that the level of fame of Honcharuk and Razumkov is not high: 48% of the surveyed Ukrainians do not know Honcharuk and 36% surveyed Ukrainians do not know Razumkov (level of public fame of the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada fluctuates: in September it was 31%).

About 64% of respondents approve of the actions and statements of President Volodymyr Zelensky in September and October of this year (22% do not approve). 51% of respondents approve the Government’s actions during September and October (27% do not approve). 53% of the study participants approve the Verkhovna Rada’s actions during September and October (30% do not approve).
