Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said that he took part in online meeting of the member states of the PS752 Flight Victim Assistance Coordination Group, at which was decided to choose Ukraine to represent group in negotiations with Iran. This was reported by the press service of the Foreign Ministry.
It is reported that foreign ministers of Canada, Afghanistan, the UK and Sweden also took part in the online meeting.
The meeting participants signed a Memorandum of Understanding in cooperation in negotiations on the payment of compensations by Iran, which formalized a common approach to holding it accountable for downing PS752 flight and paying appropriate compensation.
“These interstate negotiations with Iran on the payment of compensation are an important and necessary step towards achieving the goal of the coordination group – to hold Iran accountable and to help families to find reassurance in this sad moment. They are important for holding Iran accountable and paying full compensation to the affected states and families of the victims,” Kuleba said.
The Foreign Minister of Ukraine emphasized that the members of the group continue to advocate for responsibility, transparency, justice and compensation to the families and relatives of the victims.
