The repair works include replacement of the wheels and the inner lining of the hoist cars, as well as equipment examination.
The Kyiv funicular is temporarily closed for routine repairs, which take place annually, the Kyiv City State Administration reports.
The transport service will be launched from August 21.
Repair works on the funicular takes place the same period every year in.
“During August, the machine, compressor and thyristor controller room will be repaired, cross-sleepers will be replaced and the contact network will be updated. The wheels and the inner lining of the hoist cars will be replaced including complete inspection of the equipment,” the statement reads.
