According to the mayor of Kyiv Vitalii Klitschko, 196 new coronavirus cases were recorded in the capital over the past day.
“In total, there are 27,693 confirmed cases of coronavirus in the capital. Experts explain this decrease in the number of patients by the “weekend effect”. Because fewer laboratories work on weekends which means fewer people take tests,” he said.
Among those who were infected on previous day are: 109 women aged 20 to 84, 68 men aged 19 to 83, 5 girls aged from 11 to 16 and 14 boys aged from one to 17 years old. Daily figure also includes 5 health workers. Some 21 patients were hospitalized.
During the day, 6 people died in the capital, bringing coronavirus death toll to 487 in Kyiv.
In total, 9,793 residents of Kyiv overcame the coronavirus, up 91 on previous day.
