On October 2, the online campaign #CorrectUA has been launched, aimed to focus the attention of foreign media on the correct spelling of the name of the Ukrainian capital. Please, write #KyivNotKiev – says the main message of the campaign. The action was initiated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine in cooperation with the Center for Strategic Communications « StratCom Ukraine ». This is reported on the official website of the Foreign Ministry.
«Every day during the campaign, posts on the pages of the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine on Facebook and Twitter will appear, containing cases of incorrect use of the name of Ukraine’s capital, Kiev (instead of correct one, Kyiv) by leading foreign media outlets such as The New York Times, BBC, Reuters and others,» – the report says.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine called on not indifferent citizens of the country and friends of her to join the campaign.
