Lawyers of the Crimean Tatar activist Eden Bekirov, Oleksiy Laden and Islyam Velilyaev believe that following a medical examination at the Republican Neurology Hospital, Bekirov could be transferred to house arrest, the Krym/Realii reports.
“When we appealed the administration of the pre-trial detention center to conduct a second medical report, we attached our independent medical report. It says Bekirov has a neurological disease, which prevents him from staying in jail. We express cautious optimism that doctors will give the correct diagnosis and give an appropriate conclusion,” Laden said.
Lawyers noted that the defense or the prosecutor’s office would appeal to change Bekirov’s preventive measure to house arrest.
As The Journalist reported, Edem Bekirov to undergo new forensic examination.
