The Minister of Health of Ukraine Zoriana Skaletska has said that the Ministry of Health plans over the years of the current government to increase the vaccination coverage of the population up to 95%.

Skaletska noted that regional public health centers will be created in each oblast, where will be organized immunization departments, and specialists from these departments will be involved in planning and monitoring the level of vaccination coverage of the population.

According to Lada Bulakh, member of the Verkhovna Rada committee on national health, medical care and medical insurance, chairman of the subcommittee on ensuring epidemic safety, combating HIV/AIDS, the Committee together with representatives of the Verkhovna Rada Education Committee and the Ministry of Education and Science and representatives of the Legal Affairs Committee initiated a working group in order to review the consequences of refusing vaccination, which is not yet regulated by law.

“Each Ukrainian should bear administrative, civil, or at least moral responsibility. In this system, there can be no arbitrary and everyday interpretation of the need to vaccinate your child and yourself. Of course, this can be partially solved thanks to the communication and motivation of people to vaccinate, but according to the experience of other countries and previous Ukrainian experience – the lack of responsibility in the context of the legal field creates groundless refusal of vaccination, because the person does not realize that it is not only her family’s problems, and the entire health system. Indeed, collective immunity can be protected only if 95% of the population is vaccinated,” the Telegraph quotes the deputy, as saying.
