Yesterday, on October 10, during the talks with the Catholic news agency KNA in Istanbul, Metropolitan Arsenios of Austria and Exarch of Hungary (Kardamakis) has announced that the decision on Ukraine’s Tomos would be made by the Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate at the appropriate time. The question of granting the Ukrainian Orthodox Church autocephaly has been postponed for now. According to the report, a certain delay in the Tomos issue may be related to the situation on relations between Constantinople and Moscow, arising on this issue. This is reports the DW news agency.

«We would not like to create any new problems, but with the help of God we will do everything in the peaceful way,» – the KNA repored, citing Kardamakis.

It is became known that the next meeting of the Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate will be held on November 9 – 11.
The Archbishop Daniel of Pamphylia from the United States of America (USA) and Bishop Hilarion of Edmonton from Canada were appointed exarchs from the Ecumenical Patriarchate in Kyiv. The appointment took place in preparation for the granting of autocephaly to the Orthodox Church in Ukraine.
The exarchs arrived to Ukraine on September 7.
According to Archbishop Daniel of Pamphylia (USA), the Orthodox churches in Ukraine have already been ready for unification for the long time:

«I think that the churches in Ukraine are ready for unification for 27 years, if not several centuries. When this can happen is hard to say.»

As The Journalist reported, Ecumenical Patriarchate will discuss the issue of Ukraine’s Tomos after exarchs’ report.
