A certificate on the completion of the Shelter Object Conversion Project was issued after the construction of the Arch (New Safe Confinement) was installed, the press service of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant informs.
It is reported that after eight years of hard work Arch has been installed over two power units of the ChNPP.
It is noted that the Arch is the largest land-based movable structure with a length of 165 m., a height of 110 m., a width of 260 m. and a total weight of 36,200 tons.
«The certificate confirmed the completion of work on the License Pack-5 in full, in accordance with the project documentation and opened the way to the final stage: the commissioning of the New Safe Confinement as an integral property complex together with internal systems,» – the report said.
