Over the past day, on February 5, the militants attacked Ukrainian army positions 12 in the zone of the United Force operation in Donbas, five times using weapons prohibited by the Minsk agreements. As a result, one Ukrainian soldier was injured. In turn, four militants were eliminated. This was reported by the press center of the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) HQ on the Facebook page.
“In the area of activity of the operational-tactical group Vostok (“East”), the Ukrainian positions in the Opytne area were shelled three times with 82-mm mortar, automatic grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms; from automatic grenade launchers in the area of Pisky; twice from grenade launchers of various systems, large-caliber machine guns and small arms in the Hnutove area; from grenade launchers and small arms in the Novomykhailivka area,” the message says.
In the area of activity of the operational-tactical group Sever (“North”), the militants attacked Ukrainian positions in the area of Khutir Vilniy from 82-mm mortar; 82-mm mortars and automatic grenade launchers in the area of Troyitske; twice from 82-mm mortars, grenade launchers of various systems, heavy machine guns and small arms in the area of Ekaterynivka; 82-mm mortar in the Krymske settlement area.
According to Ukrainian intelligence, on February 5, four militants were killed and another eleven were seriously injured. Also was destroyed an armored fighting vehicle.
