Head of UN Mission in Ukraine arrived to Donbas

Head of the UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine, Fiona Frazer, has arrived to Donbas and met with representatives of the Joint Forces Command (JFO). This was reported by the press center of the Joint Forces Operation HQ on Facebook page.

“Compliance with the norms of international humanitarian law is one of the priorities for our country, especially in the JFO area. In order to improve the mechanism of interaction between Armed Forces of Ukraine and international organizations, which designed to promote the observance of international humanitarian and human rights (especially in the military conflict zones), the UN Monitoring Mission on Human Rights in Ukraine, Mrs. Fiona Fraszer, held a working meeting in the city of Kramatorsk,” message said.

Also, the parties have exchanged data on casualties, as well as on prevention civilian casualties in the JFO area, protect and respect the civilian rights, freedom of movement of the civilians, their death or injury caused by careless handling of weapons.
It is noted that Frazer welcomed the creation of the Working Group last year, working on the collection and compilation of information on cases of injury and death of civilians.
