Militants shelled the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) patrol in Donbas. This was reported by the press service of the mission.
Today, on August 16, in vicinity of the village of Holmivskyi, which is located 49 km to the north-east of Donetsk, two armored vehicles with five SMM members were shelled by the militants. Three patrol members were outside of transport, two were inside.
It is noted that the patrol was monitoring adherence to the ceasefire regime in order to repair the power transmission line by the workers of the Company «Voda Donbassa».
«Three patrol members outside the vehicles heard an explosion about 500 m north and another explosion about 500 m south-south-east, followed by about 10 shots from small arms 100-150 m north and north-west. Bullets flew over the heads of three mission members who were outside the transport,» – the report said.
The patrol members left the area and returned to its forward patrol base in Horlivka.
