It is noted that island should ensure the safety of pedestrian traffic on one of the central streets of the capital. In Kyivavtodor it is explained that this is a technical means of regulating traffic on ground pedestrian crossings. It is structurally allocated over the roadway and is designed as a protective element for stopping pedestrians when crossing the roadway.
It is known that this design as «know how» has been used in the capital since last year. Modular high security island was installed on Arhipenko street. In addition, similar solutions are implemented on Trukhanivska street and on the Druzhby narodiv boulevard near the exits from metro station in the direction of Pecherskyi Bridge.
