On June 15, in the National Philharmonic of Ukraine will perform well-known Japanese violinist Mayuko Kamio, who is the youngest artist ever to win the Menuhin International Violin Competition. This is informed by the the press service of the National Philharmonic.
Mayuko Kamio will accompany the Symphony Orchestra of the National Philharmonic of Ukraine in the direction of Nikolai Dyadyura. Mayuko Kamio will be performing Brahms’s Violin Concerto. She plays a Stradivarius from 1727, previously owned by Joseph Joachim, who was a close collaborator of Johannes Brahms. Ms Kamio was born in Osaka, Japan in 1986, and began to play the violin at the age of four. Mayuko Kamio received a grant from the Bagby Foundation for the Musical Arts and is a recipient of the prestigious Idemitsu Music Award. In 2007 she take the first prize for violin in the International Tchaikovsky Competition. She also garnered the gold medal at the first International David Oistrakh Violin Competition in Ukraine in 2004. And a few years later, Ms Mayuko made her debut in Kiev, where she gave a concert with the Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra.
