EU will allocate over one million euros for restoration Pip Ivan observatory

The European Union will allocate EUR 1 million 53 thousand to restore the astronomical and meteorological observatory located on Mount Pip Ivan (Chornohora range, Carpathians), the Vice-Prime Minister of Ukraine Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze reported on Facebook.
She notes that it is planned to create the International Scientific Center "Observatory" of the Carpathians and the University of Warsaw, based on the old observatory.
The “Adaptation of the former observatory on Mount Pip Ivan for the needs of the high-mountain rescue center” project is to be implemented in the framework of the EU’s Cross-border Cooperation Programme Poland – Belarus – Ukraine 2014–2020.
The funds to be used to install modern meteorological equipment. It is also planned to purchase the necessary rescue equipment and modern equipment for the Ukrainian and Polish rescue teams.
A part of the funds will be used for the repair and improvement of the premises within the framework of the project’s objectives.
As The Journalist reported, preferential customs clearance of cars with foreign registration supplemented budget for UAH 13.6 bln.
