On September 4, at 4:00 a.m., the mine collapsed at the Zaporozhye Iron Ore Combine. As a result of the incident, one person was killed, Radio Liberty reports.
«At 4:27 a.m. (local time zone) the information about mine collapse was received. Workers of the 7th platoon went to liquidation of the debris. At the moment 15 of our representatives works on the site. The body of one dead miner was found. At 9:02 a.m. it was raised to the surface and should have been passed to the employees of the prosecutor’s office. The dead were found at a depth of 940 meters,» – said the spokesman of the state paramilitary mine rescue team of the State Service for Emergency Situations Vladislav Smolyanoy.
It is known that the rescuers carry out the necessary work at the crash site.
According to preliminary information, at least 242 people worked in the mine when the incident occurred.
Earlier, in March, as a result of a fire at the Zaporozhye Iron Ore Combine, six employees were injured.
